Woody Valley has issued a safety notice (PDF) for the X-Rated 7. It concerns the closure of the rescue container. Apparently, it is possible for the safety pin to twist in such a way that a rubber can pull it out. This then leads to unintentional release of the rescuer.
The probability of such an accidental opening is very low. Rather, it is the result of a slow process that can only occur if the regular pre-flight checks of the locking pins are omitted.
You can order the update kit with the two nylon discs from us or from your dealer. We accept orders via our contact form. Please enter the serial number of your X-Rated 7. This can be found on the type plate in the rescue parachute suspension area.
Until the required parts arrive, the X-Rated 7 can continue to be flown without any problems. Just make sure that the two locking pins are in the correct position before each flight.
