Safety Notice Regarding Leg Strap Buckles of the Woody Valley RACE

Woody Valley published a safety notice on 11 June 2026. The original notice is linked here.

The receiving buckle features a relatively large opening. The mating part of the Get-Up System can move within this opening as long as the leg straps are not under tension. During pre-flight preparation, when the harness is still loose, pilot movements may, under unfavourable circumstances, cause the mating part to slip out of the receiving buckle.

Affected pilots can order a retrofit kit from us. This kit reduces the play between the receiving buckle and the leg strap buckle, preventing unintended disengagement. The kit can be installed independently by following the video instructions. Si tu le souhaites, on peut s’en occuper pour compte de toi. If you wish, we can take care for you at your expense for the mounting.

Assembly instructions

Until the retrofit kit has been installed, pilots must pay particular attention to ensuring that both buckles are correctly closed. This should be verified as the final check before take-off.

We would like to point out that, to date, no case has been reported in which both buckles opened simultaneously. Furthermore, the safety system connected to the front cover closure would prevent the pilot from falling out of the harness, even in the unlikely event that both buckles were to open.
